Ordnance Factory Board is a bicentenary Government organization with 41 factories spread throughout India. Recently Ordnance Factory Recruitment Centre, on behalf of all the Ordnance Factories invites ONLINE applications from eligible citizens of India for filling up vacancies/posts of Semi-Skilled grade Industrial Employees (IEs) Group ‘C’ in different trades and Labour Group ‘C’ in various Ordnance Factories located across India. Selection Process : Process for Selection to the Industrial Employee will be as Follows :-

  • 1st Stage is OMR Based Written Exam.
  • 2nd Stage is Trade Test (Practical) along with Document Verification.
  • On the basis of merit list based on marks obtained in written test, candidates 1.25 times the number of vacancies shall be called for Trade Test (Practical).
  • The Trade Test (Practical) shall be only qualifying in nature, without any marks. However, those candidates who do not qualify in the Trade Test shall not be considered at all, irrespective of marks obtained in the written examination.
  • The final merit/select list shall be based on marks obtained in the written test only, subject to document verification and qualifying the Trade Test.
  • There shall be no interview for filling up of these vacancies.

  1. The question will be of up to 10th Standard.
  2. the Questions will be compulsory. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer.
  3. Time Duration for Group C Exam is 2 Hours while Total Duration/ Timing for candidates utilizing the facilities of a scribe is 02 Hour 40 Minutes.
  4. There will be a written examination of one paper. The paper will be of “Objective-Multiple-choice-type”. It will conduct under Offline Mode on OMR Sheet.
  5. The examination will be trilingual, i.e., Hindi, English and regional language of the State where the factory against which the candidate has applied is located. With reference to Ordnance Factories and their respective locations, this translates to English, Hindi & any one regional language among the following- Bengali/ Marathi/Oriya/Tamil/Telugu.

OFRC Trade Test Pattern : After Qualifying Written Exam, Candidates have to appear for Trade Test. It must be noted that Trade Test will be of Qualifying Nature. No Marks of Trade Test will be added. Trade Test will conduct for both Tradesmen Post & Labour Posts.

OFRC Semi Skilled Tradesman Skill Test/ Trade Test Syllabus : The syllabus for trade test (Practical) will be as per trade test specification of semi-skilled grade of the relevant trade, trade test will be merely qualifying nature. It will not decide the merit of the selected candidates. The merit will be decided solely based of the results of written examination.

OFRC Labour Trade Test Syllabus Group C Posts : As per trade test specifications, an unskilled workman will be mainly engaged on handling/shifting of material. He will also be required to clean machines, floors of shop/areas around machines and other similar places, if and as necessary. The trade test may be designed accordingly to test the aptitude of the candidate. However, this test will be of qualifying nature only.

Ordnance Factory Group C Syllabus 2023 :

Industrial Employee

General Science (10 Questions) : Question will be aimed at testing the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him. Question will also be designed to test knowledge of basic science studied upto 10th standard and would include such matters of every day observations and experience as may be expected of any educated person.

Quantitative Aptitude (10 Questions) : The candidate will be tested for general mathematics of upto 10th Standard involving number systems, equations in two variables, simple and compound interest, perimeter, area and volume of geometrical figures, Direct and inverse proportions, Pythagoras theorem and trigonometry.

NCVT Trade (80 Questions) : Questions from the NCVT Syllabus of relevant trade.

Labour

Numerical Aptitude : Number System, Fractions, Decimals and Percentage, Ratio and proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time & Distance, Time & Work.

General Science : The questions on science may be set keeping in view the standard appropriate to High School. Questions may include subjects and activities which are more relevant to day-to-day existence/activities of human life.

General Awareness : Current events-National & International, History & Culture, General polity and Indian Constitution & General Geography.

Trade Test : The syllabus for trade test (Practical) will be as per trade test specification of semi-skilled grade of the relevant trade, trade test will be merely qualifying nature. It will not decide the merit of the selected candidates. The merit will be decided solely based of the results of written examination.
